Hello i am making a 3D cat for a friend's little girl. She has a cat that is an orange tabby. The orange color is a dull almost grey tone to it, How would i make this? Any tips on this would be great, The cakes are made just have to cut them and then i need to decorate it tomorrow. I really want this cake to be great the little girl has had a hard week with being sick.

I am using a buttercream.

I had to do sorta the same this this past week trying to get a nice orange for a Harley Davidson cake. Seemed like I put every color in there, I kept getting a beautiful peach color but it finally came out. It was darker then I wanted but it was a practice cake for a friends birthday. I have the hardest time with colors; wish I could afford to buy a large set of the Americolors. Haven't tried a 3d animal...you did a good job.
