What Should I Use To Handpaint Design?

Hello,
Im making a cake tomorrow and I need to handpaint a design on fondant, can I use regular food coloring mixed with vodka for this purpose? I dont have powdered colors, just the standard wilton gels.

don't vodka it down too much. it'll work just fine.

I've used the gel colors, mixed with a little vodka for painting details on royal incing and fondant.
