*silly Question About Rolling Out Fondant
Decorating By marion123 Updated 1 May 2009 , 8:37pm by marion123
I saw Bronwen Weber make a checkered floor on a cake challenge a couple of weeks ago. She used a small square cutter and pieced all of the squares together (then you wouldn't have to roll one big piece). Or were you planning on painting on the checks? And how big is the cake that you're worried about rolling it out so big? Just curious! ![]()
HI.. Thanks for your reply.. I'm going to use one full sheet cake and carve out two numbers so they are side by side and then have the flag drapping over the 2 cakes.. I was going to have the white flag rolled out flat and just add the black squares.. What do you think?
Hi, wonder whether this helps at all?

I think given what you are tryig to do, that I would roll out the white and then roll your black out VERY thin and cut out the squares and lay them on the white. I would not try to paint it.
