Buttercream Transfer Question

Can you make a fondant plaque with a buttercream transfer or will the icing just slide off the fondant?

You should be able to do it if it will be laying flat, but if it is on the side of a cake I would think it would slide off. Have never tried either. Maybe someone else knows on here.
