how much powdered gelatin does it take to egual a sheet of gelatin?

i wondered this too as use powdered gelatine but its not widely available so Bump

One package (1 tablespoon) of powdered gelatin equals 4 sheets.

thanks, I guess I have another question then, how many grams is one sheet. I had a recipe that called fo 4g of a gelatin sheet so how would I convert this to powder? I went ahead and dissolved the gelatin in a 1/4 cup of water and used maybe half. I don't think it was enough, the product was a little runny.

I googled gelatin conversion and this is what I found:
1 sheet of gelatin equals 1/10 of an oz
1 tblsp equals 1/3 of an oz. So no you cant switch that out
They can be substituted by exact weight

Thanks Charmed, it would be kind of hard to do that because then you have to put the liquid factor into it, thanks for your help. I will just have to order the gelatin sheets off line so that I have them. I didn't even think to google it, duh. Thanks again icon_smile.gif
