How Big Should The Mirror Be?

I am making my friends wedding cake in May and it will be 6, 10, 14inch round stacked cake. I want to buy a round mirror to put the cake on but how big should it be 16 or 18 inches?

You divide the difference of the diameter by two because you are placing the cake directly in the middle and that is how much width of mirror will be around the bottom. 16-14=2 /2= 1 inch around the bottom.
18-14=4 /2= 2 inches around the bottom. Depends on what you like. I like more and would probably up it to a 20 inch mirror. 20-14=6 /2= 3 inch base around the bottom layer.

I'm with sadsmile. I think I would want to go 6" bigger. If you only have an inch or two, you are almost defeating the purpose of using a mirror.
