This recipe looks good. I was wondering if anyone who has tried it can answer some questions. I need to have icing that is not too sweet, but is shelf stable.
Am I able to make roses with this icing?
Does it really last for 3 months?
Is it fairly easy to smooth on a cake?
No you can't pipe a rose
yes it will last
It's a bit harder to smooth because it doesn't crust, but it's possible
and it's DELICIOUS
Thanks so much for your response. It really helps. I think I am going to try and make it this week for 2 cakes. I guess I could either use royal icing or a stiffer buttercream for the roses. Thanks again.
