How do I doctor up pound cake mix ? I like it but I want to make it better ! simple syrup ???
225g (8oz) Sugar
Place the sugar and water into a saucepan, stirring until dissolved
Simmer gently for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cool and refrigerate until needed.
You could use this sugar syrup recipe and infuse with citrus rind or any thing you fancy really. Just spoon over the top if you are leaving it plain ( not iced ) or sppon in to the cetre of a cut cake to give flavour and moistness.
