I don't normally start a thread for my cake, but I was just so happy with it, I thought I should.
I took the cake shape idea from one of collettes cakes: http://www.weddingbook.com/vendors/colettes_cakes/profiles/wedding_cake/photos/126446.jpg
I bought the Nicholas Lodge Gumpaste gardenia and peony dvd, watched it 2 times and then made gardenias for the first time! Had some gumpaste roses, made the leaves.
I attended the wedding as well, so I was able to stand near the cake and hear people talking about it. And then sometimes talk to them about it. I felt like a proud mom
Thanks for looking.

Great job...I just looked at the pic. And a nice story too! I want to do the same thing every time I make a cake. Sometimes it's just "bride ordered from e-mail, I made cake, delivered cake, end of story." How boring! Lol.....again, great job, it is soooo pretty! And awesome fondant work as well! ![]()
