Hi Everyone, I have attempted a few time to try and carve a purse out of a cake...It NEVER looks like a purse, and today I ended up flipping it over and filling it and making a square cake out of it...Any suggestions on how on earth to do this? Any suggestions???

I just started with sheet cake, cut into sections of 4 inches deep and stacked. I think I ended up with 6 layers high, and carved. I was making a big bag so there wasn't much carving to do, just made the bottom a little narrow and the sides rounded. Then I added cake boards between every two layers and dowels. Mine in my pictures if you want to take a look. When it was done, I put it on a foam core board and drove a sharpened dowel through the whole thing into the board to keep it from tipping. HTH
