Hi CC friends,

I just purchased some luster dust from CC and I'm not sure how to use it. I would like to use it in my airbrush machine and I've read you mix it with lemon extract or vodka. I was wondering what the ratio of dust to extract? Also, once the extract and dust are mixed, do you need to thin it to use in an airbrush? I love the look of cakes with the metallic look and I know luster dust will give me that effect, I just need some help. Thanks

Welcome to CC ceolicri icon_smile.gif

I read an article and also received an email from Earlene on this subject. I want to say it was a 4:1 ratio. The dusts were mixed with lemon extract, vodka or any clear alcohol (EverClear being the best). The lemon extract has a high alcohol volume. There's several posts about the ratio's on sugarcraft.com when you look up they're clay gun page, and also on Earlene'sCakes.com.
