Can anyone explain exactly how to use fabric ribbon on fondant covered tiered cakes? How is it secured and do you have to do anything special to it first?

I use a bit of icing at the back where the ends meet to "glue" the ends together.

I also use the icing in the back, but I've also seen it done with a pin (one with the pearl top), just warn your customer to remove it before eating.
