For all you that sell your cupcakes--what are your top five flavors? I would like to have an idea what the general public likes, so I can plan.
No matter what time of year, RED VELVET! Some like it with the usual cream cheese frosting and others I made for like flavored BC. I usually make them in a ramakin without liners so you can admire the red color.
I fill all mine and my top five are:
Chocolate/chocolate
Vanilla/vanilla
Chocolate/Peanut butter
Carrot/Cinnamon cream cheese
Pina Colada
I don't do this for a living so I don't know, but from family and friends they usually request my Red Velvets.
Here are mine:
Cake/icing
white chocolate sour cream/raspberry
chocolate/almond butter cream
marble/chocolate butter cream
chocolate/butterfinger chocolate butter cream
white choc. sour cream/lemon buttercream (MY PERSONAL FAV)
I don't know if I am going to be a great help because I have a lot of gourmet off the wall flavors, but here it goes, top 5:
Andrew's Mint- choc and mint
PBNJ- yep, you read right!
Jamocha- chocolate coffee vanilla
Orange Dream- like a creamcicle
Salty Turtle- turtle inspired with salted caramel buttercream.
hehe...told you I wouldn't be much help! LOL
Oh my goodness, your salted caramel buttercream sounds just divine. Would you mind sharing your recipe for that? I've been searching for a really good caramel BC.
In this order...But every area and pallet is different ya know?
1. Red Velvet w/cream cheese frosting
2. Vanilla/Vanilla
3. Carrot w/cream cheese frosting
4. Chocolate/chocolate
5. Lemon/Lemon
I don't retail (okie law) but my kids & their friends favorites:
* Cherry Limeaide (cherry cake w/ lime buttercreme)
* Homemade "Insert Brand Name Starts with H" with the Mashmellow buttercreme filling
* Vanilla Bean with Raspberry filling
* Lemon with a Lemon Bettercreme
* I also do an Orange Dream but mine is filled with Chocolate - so it tastes like choclate covered orange (like the candy at the holidays)
I can see it now, I'll learn how to do PBNJ ones and my kids will think they can take to school for lunch.
Hey fellow OKIE--was that cherry limeaide inspired by my favorite drive-in Sonic?
It sure was - was sitting drinking a Rt 44 while reading the Gourmet Flavors thread, and it hit me - what a great cake idea. These are my DS & his friends favorites. Everytime they come over they are asking if there are any. Added extra cherries and extra cherry juice since that is how they like their drinks.
Had a Strawberry Lemonade today - trying to figure out if I want Lemon Cake with Strawberry Icing, or the other way around. decisons..decisions..decisions
Oh man, lemon cake with strawberry icing gets my vote, wait no, strawberry cake with lemon icing, wait, no, man, I need to go to Sonic right now!!!!!!!
