I don't often pat myself on the back, but I feel like I have a reason to now!
I set out to make some quick and easy shamrock cookies for 2 different events this weekend. I got out my cutter and the darn thing was a JOKE! The stems broke off of every single shamrock. I was in the middle of baking and didn't have time to run off and get a new cutter, so I just started rifling through my cutters to see what I could come up with that would be "St. Patrick's-y."
I'm not so good at coming up with truly original ideas; I'm really good at copying things I see and like. But this time, my brain must have been actually working. Here's what I came up with: I used a circle cutter, cut dough in half for a rainbow; a mini holly leaf cutter, with edges rounded off; and a petal cutter from the Wilton gumpaste flower set to make a pot of gold.
Here's a link to the photo in my gallery and a photo of the cutters.
