I was in Michael's yesterday trying to find something to use as a template for cutting star burst shapes out of fondant. I found the paper punches in the scrapbooking aisle. I got a daisy shaped one and figured I'd try it and see if it would work. I had to roll my fondant super thin and let it dry just a little bit before I was able to press the shapes out but it worked perfectly and the edges were crisp and clean.
I used a couple on the cake I just finished (the 50th birthday one). I attached them to floral wire by sandwiching the wire between the shape and a dot of fondant on the back.
Maybe someone's already discovered this little tool, but I was happy with it and thought I'd share. ![]()
