sugarshack.. So your just trying to tease everyone HUH??????
LOL!!! Its going to be very hard to beat the Boxes & Bows dvd! I just love that one!!!!!!!!!!
sadsmile... hehe! LOL!!!!!!!
I tried to make some eny-tiny curli ques on bamboo skewers and they would not release to save my life and I couldn't use them...WHaaaaa! Have you ever seen a pig cry?
Poor piggie...
Try putting a little cornstarch on your skewers and moving the curlie ques ever so gently a couple of times during the first few minutes of drying ![]()
My husband made a drying "rack" for me a while back... I love mine... It is quite a bit different than this one but i use it for soooooo many things I can shape long strips of ribbon, I hang my gum paste flowers from it by their stems . The arms are adjustable and and it is shaped more like a spiral staircase but the arms swivel around.. I will post a picture later.
It is one of those things that i didn't think I needed till I got it, Now I couldn't work without it!!!! It is indispensable ....
JaimeAnn.. Sounds awesome ! Yes please post it, we might need it to! LOL!!!!!!!! Theres always room for more cake toys!
Sorry it took me so long to post the pics. I have just been super busy.
Anyways, here is my drying rack that I absolutely LOVE.
I don't realy have any projects going on right now so I just hung some scrap stuff from it to give you an example of how it is used, and the "arms" can swivel all the way around and be positioned at just about any angle.
My husband was thinking about making up a few and selling them on ebay, I am not sure there are that many people looking for drying racks to warrant that... hahahah ![]()

That looks like a bird play stand may birds had a long time ago. I have to go look for it they never liked it and never used it. So I scrubbed it good and put it back in the box wow I just bet I could use it to dry bows on if I covered it in plastic wrap. Cool Beans I forgot I had that.
I agree thats awesome ! Yes I also need one of those.. And yes Wildrose6633.. It looks like the stands I used to have for my Parrots !
Thanks for posting!
So my husband is going to put one on ebay to see if there is a demand.
He is thinking $35 , What do you all think is a fair price ? I am not a very good judge of price value.
I am sure most people can make it themselves but There are a few people who would rather not deal with cutting the pipe and such.
heck i will buy one for $35.
My hubby NOT handy
would love to have one!
Too bad my hubby doesn't do stufff like that.
Jaime that thing is SWEET!! Maybe your dear sweet hubby would like to have a side job marketing bow loop hangers to all us crazy Cake Centralites!! ![]()
bobwonderbuns - My hubby is in the shop right now making up a few ..
I don't want to get in trouble here on CC , Not sure what the rules are about offering something like this but Anyone who wants to keep my husband busy can PM me or email me.
[email protected]
Can someone help me please
I'm so embarressed
because I've watched the video 3 different times (altho the last 2 were fast forward) to see this thing and can't find it.
When does Sharon show it? Someone told me it was during the ho ho ho cake and I just watched it again and don't see a loop hanger. She just does the loops on the cake. I just feel so left out......... (not to say dumb)
what am I missing ![]()
nannie.. Its on the dvd when Sharon is working on the big yellow loopy bow!
Its just like the one I posted on this thread back a page or so !
JamieAnn
Please ask you husband what diameter PVC pipe he uses on the arms. I know that the inside diameter of the pipe is smaller than the outside so you need to tell me what diameter you are giving me. My DH and I are at odds as to what size this is.
What do you use when you want to make a fondant curly cue or that spiral little thing?
Thanks.
BJNZ-
Sorry I haven't checked this thread in a while .. I use 1/2 inch Pvc for the rack. Pvc isn't measured by interior or exterior diameter, it comes in different sizes and is labeled as that size and the fittings are labeled to correspond ie: 1/2" 3/4" 1" . I used 1/2"
As for the curly q's I use different sized drinking straws Boba tea straws for large and regular drinking straws for small.
