I just bought a new cake stand. It is the one with the center post and you have to core out the center. Wilton makes one like it but I didn't buy from Wilton. It feels flimsy. Has any used this type of cake stand? And do you find them pretty sturdy?
Thanks,
Pat
I have the wilton one and use it for a lot of things. I like it to serve petite fours, canapes, cupcakes - reg and minis, finger sandwiches, cookies, and sometimes I do use it for cakes. It is not my fav for cakes. Core the cake, core the board because you cannot put cake directly on the cake plate, they scratch too easily, hard to transport. Let's just say, I like to use it but not for cakes.
I am so glad to know! I almost just purchased one yesterday but I was "on the fence" about it.
I think I'll steer clear for now ~ Thanks!
