Smoothing Buttercream With A Bench Scraper

I have just gotten the DVD "Perfecting the Art of Buttercream" and really liked the method of smoothing with a bench scraper to get straight sides (not my strength!!) So I ordered a bench scraper and it came today.
When sighted down the edge of the scraper, I noticed a slight wave at the last 1/4 of the blade. I am wondering from anyone who uses this method-should I get a new one, or is this not a big deal?? Thanks!!
