My daughter made these cake testers for me a few Christmases ago. Aren't they pretty?!!!
I use the silver one in spring/summer and the copper one in fall/winter -- I know, I'm a nerd.
Mine are a little bent from so much use. I don't put them in the dishwasher, just rub them off with a wet, soapy dishcloth.
Anyway, she just started with something called a lamp pull that you can get at the hardware store, then she added beads. I bet they didn't cost much at all to make, but they're great.
I thought you all might like to make yourselves one (or one for each season
).
Call me a nerd too - I like them! My daughter laughs at me & says I'll make a "cute little old lady'.
Tthey are really cool! I am so gonna make some, I have a fear of toothpicks! LOL! When I was little my mom got one jabbed into her toe under the toe nail and I can't look at one without cringing! I can't believe I did not think to make something like this!! Thanks for posting!
That's not nerdy at all and I think that was really, really sweet of your daughter not to mention, creative too!!!
I had a friend give one of these to me for my birthday a year ago. She bought it at a local "kitchen store" - a gourmet kitchen shop in the very small town where we live. So someone must make them for sale?? Especially if I can get one up here in Canada!
i think they are beautiful! and so sweet of your daughter to make them for you!
What a great idea for a cake tester. They are so pretty. You should consider helping your daughter sell those. I know they would be a great hit.
