OK I think this is probably a dumb question, but I am making a childs cake and need to paint on silver luster dust I know I can mix it with Vodka, but is it safe to put alcohol on the cake? Will the alcohol dry and and not be harmful? I read to use Lemon extract, but I don't want my fondant to taste like lemon.

The alcohol evaporates away. all you're left with is dust
