How Much In Advance Would You Make A Gumpaste Shoe?!

Just trying out a gumpaste shoe and would like to know how long they take to dry....

I always make my gumpaste models a week ahead. So it has lot of time to dry properly. icon_smile.gif

I try and make all my GP stuff as far ahead as possible.

I've done mine in a day in a pinch. Put a toothpick in the heel and it will be ready to use almost immediately. Dry it in front of a fan or, my personal favorite, a food dehydrator.

I've done mine as close as the day ahead as long as it isn't a solid block of gumpaste that needs to dry. My trick for a quick dry is to put the item in a small room (my spare bedroom) and put a dehumidifier in it and leave it on overnight. You can feel how dry the room is when you enter it the next morning and the item is normaly rock hard. thumbs_up.gif
