Have a order for a house warming....

She wants a 12" heart with a 9" heart on the top. (not sure why hearts) Has to have Cream cheese icing(of course icon_biggrin.gif ) and wants me to use fresh Hibiscus and Bougainvillea flowers.

I have been going over and over with the layout. It should be simple but I don't want to make it like a sweetheart cake...

Have any suggestions?

what about a smallish cluster on the top towards one of the upper edges and then just a couple of flowers at the base on top of the cake board?

(hope that's not a sweetheart cake - not sure what that is) icon_rolleyes.gif

I call the sweetheart cake like for valentines day or wedding cakes....

I'll have to move the flowers around, thanks for the help!

Were you planning on just smooth icing without a top border...? I'm just thinking that "less is more" if you don't want it to look like a sweetheart cake. Of course, I think the heart shape automatically lends itself to a sweetheart theme. But, that's what the client wants.....so that is what the client should get!

OOPS! Just had a thought! What about a cross stitch type lettering saying "Home Sweet Home"! Yes, I know it's kinda corny...but....it goes with the heart! And yes....I'm kinda old! LOLL

yeah, After the cake was done and I was in the shower...I started thinking ahh, "home sweet home" and "home is where the heart is".. I almost went and changed it! But I thought better of it..I'll have it posted soon..using my parents Digital since mine got stolen icon_sad.gif

I use stencils as much as I can. Also, practice makes perfect! The more you write the better you get...at least that's what "I" think!

Nice job! I love the flowers!
