Hi all,

Have a question for you all. My cakes usually consist of box mix and pound cake box mix when decorating with fondant. I just invested in some cake decorating books for ideas. They suggest a Maderia cake. I tried it. It was really firm but the taste was not to good. Has the texture of biscotti.

OK now for the question. What do you use for a cake when decorating with fondant?

Thank you for your ideas and suggestions.
