Hello....I am sooo tired of trying soo many different buttercreams that never work with me icon_eek.gif i tried indydebi's frosting but it seemed to crust tooo fast and the cake looked cracked. It tasted very good though. Anyone out there have the best buttercream recipe to use? Thanks a bunch icon_biggrin.gif

You can add some vinegar to the recipe to avoid the cracking. Make sure that you have a strong board cause sometimes people dont realize their icing cracks cause the board is too soft.
There are so many icing recipes out there. All with different tastes and textures. Some people will love one and then some will hate the same one. So you got to keep trying recipes until you find what you like and taste good to you.
Have you ever tried sugarshack recipe?

The recipe on Sugarshack's buttercream DVD.
It is also easily adaptable to other flavors
Works very well especially with shortening that does have transfat
