I was just going to ask a related question. I have purchased it in the past from Michaels, but it's a little tiny bottle. I did find some this morning at Rite Aid in the first aid section that was a larger bottle. It said "skin protectant" on it, so I asked the pharmacist if it was ok to be used in food. He said I probably shouldn't because the other type purchased at Michaels (Wilton Brand) may be formulated especially for digestion and the "skin protectant" probably isn't.
Has anyone used the "skin protectant" type in food? Have you had any problems? Thanks for any advice!
OP - Sorry for the minor hijack, hopefully both our questions can be answered =)

Wow - That is extremely helpful. Thank you so much cupcakemkr and dandelion56602. That helps alot! The big bottle at Rite Aid was much more cost effective than the little wilton bottle from Michaels!
Thanks!
I buy mine from a local health food store. It's "100% pure Vegetable Glycerine". NOW brand.
It says it's "safe for topical and internal use".
"Vegetable Glycerine moisturizes and cleanses skin, has emollient (softening) and lubricating properties. Vegetable Glycerine may also be used as a natural low-glycemic sweetener or as a base for herbal extracts".
