I started my course one class last week, it is great and can't wait for this weeks class! Can you tell I am a SAHM? Okay here are my questions, that I forgot to ask more details about! We have the choice of the bear cake and the rainbow cake. I decided to do the rainbow cake bc the cake I took last week for no reason really I still have. Less prep for me! She told us to bring this amount of icing for the class.
1.5 cup med constinecy
1 cup stiff
.5 cup thin with piping gel

Do I take the 1.5 cups and divide it by four for my rainbow colors and tint them at home? Or do I do this in class? I cheated and bought the ready made red, so I only have to do the Yellow, green, white and purple. I did the blue in a different batch so it sets in color! Oh I also want to put pudding in the middle of the cake. I bought already made pudding today, that doesn't have to go in the fridge. Once I put the pudding on the cake does it have to go in the fridge? Okay I think I am done. Thanks Megan

What you bring with you is for the techniques you will learn. Bring extra icing for the rainbow cake.
good luck

Yes, bring an eatra 1 pound patch of icing. What you dont use in class you can save for the following class. Just keep it in a air tight container and it will fine. Tell hubby to get use to the mixer!

You can color the 1.5 cups of meduim icing different colors to use on your cake. The directions in the book say you only need 1/4th cup per color on the cake. Just pick one color to use in class on the practice board.

We used the same icing for practice on the cake we made. We didn't have two batches in our class. Our instructor did not tell us to color it before class, but then when we arrived she said it should have been done.

Your cake should be fine out of the fridge with the pudding, I used the same thing thru all 3 of my classes so I didn't have to worry about having it in the fridge.
