Hi.
I am making 4 birthday cakes this month for kids. Thankfully, just for people I know but they wanted a basic but "yummy" filling. None of them want any type of fruit. So, was wondering if you could give me your favorite fillings for basic yellow cakes. Thanks. Most of the cakes will be BC, one will be MMF.

This wasn't my idea, but it's a kids favorite!

Goodies-n-Cream:
Smushed up Heath bars and Butterfingers mixed in with Frostin Pride or Bettercream (or Cool Whip but then it has to be refrigerated).

I also make Cookies-n-Cream by blending a pkg of Cookies-n-Cream pudding mix into Frostin Pride and folding in crushed Oreos.

I forgot one. I think I found this recipe here at CC and it is sooo good!

Thick Caramel Filling
1 c good butter
1 c corn syrup
2 c brown sugar
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons whipping cream
2 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon salt

Bring butter through milk to a boil over med heat, stirring. Stir in cream. Attach thermometer and stir until soft ball stage. Remove from heat; add vanilla and salt.

I make Cookies-n-Cream by adding crushed Oreos into my vanilla buttercream. There is actually a recipe on this site. I don't know how to add the link but it's called Cookies and Cream buttercream.

i just use my normal buttercream recipe (you cn use your own fav) and then i melt white chocolate and pour into the buttercream then re-whip it or cream it setting then taste if not quite enough add more.... i find it great if wanting a slightly firmer filling as put in and on the cake (under my fondant) refrigerate before putting on fondant then stops the cake from moving round when you cover with fondant... i do however use a sugar brush syrup on the buttercream if hardened for the fondant to stick too..

You can also add essences to the white choc buttercream for diff flavours very popular
