ok ladies I need you on this one. I just got a request today for a baby shower cake for a baby girl. Here's the thing though it's for the daddy. The story is that this couple has been trying for two years and he is as involved in the pregnancy as his wife is. She is already having two showers with family (two sides of a huge family), and his friends wanted to throw him one. Help me come up with some ideas please! This is just too sweet!

What a great idea! Maybe a 'daddy's little girl' theme? The first thing that came to mind was two large hands holding a baby. Don't know how difficult that would be...

Do you know if you want to go serious or funny? Please keep us posted as to what you decide to do! Good luck... Convey our Congrats to the new parents as well!!!

A number of fellow teachers and I threw a baby shower for one of the men in our department years ago. We just played it straight- without the games-we figured he would have balked at that. Since he was one of those guys who enjoys talking to women, he had a great time. The only thing I can think of would be "Daddy's Little Princess." I do remember that he referred to the gifts as "loot." So maybe the Pirate's Princess?

Those ideas are really good. I thought about something sweet , but my husband thinks it should be kind of funny. I don't know much about him so I will have to dig a little. I was thinking the princess thing, and also something like daddy's little helper with tools and pink ribbons. I love the daddy's hands thing. I actually have a newborn pic of my son in my husbands hands. All black and white I could print that on an edible image and use it. Ohhhhh maybe I could get a sonogram pic from the mom! That would be cool. I will let you know what I decide on. It is in March

Awww. . .thats sweet. I like the idea with the two hands holding the baby. . .then you could say something like, "Now you know this ones going to be a daddy's girl." Or what a lucky baby girl.

Hope that I helped!

There was a song many years ago by Muarice Chevalier called
Thank Heaven For Little Girls
You might work that in with a baby girl on a cloud

You could make a hardware/bar b q apron with pockets. Print on it "Daddy's Turn". Fill the pockets with baby girl things, bottles, pacifier, diaper, etc.
Edge it out in pink laces and bows.
