How Do You Get A Pattern On Icing

hello i know you can put photo's on to icing but how would you put a picture of something else like thomas the tank engie or hearts on a heart shaped cake topper how do you print them on ( if that's how you do it). is it that you can buy stencils and some how spary them on
i really want to learn how to do this so if you can help thanks
there's several ways to put pics on a cake. you can use an edible image, a stencil, or a gel transfer. you can also do a frozen buttercream transfer or even a chocolate or royal icing transfer. hope I haven't confused you. let me know if there is a certain one you would like to know about. or you can do a search on them. hth
