Hi everyone! I need some help. I just got a call requesting small cakes that look like floats in a Mardi Gras parade for a 50th b-day for about 60 guests. I'm not great with figurines, so I might just have to say no (something I've never done before!). Do you all have any great ideas?

Wow being from Louisiana floats vary greatly..purple green and gold are the colors..you could do little loaf pans and add mardi gras beads on top..they are very cheap here..let me know if I can help..

Thanks. I really appreciate the reply. I think I can do it, but they won't be really detailed. I was thinking of doing loaf pans, then doing swags and beads around them. On top, I could maybe decorate sugar cookies in the shapes of masks, joker hats, etc. Yes, lots of green, purple and gold and lots of beads!

google for parade pics and go from there. You can have the purple/green/gold on there, but most floats vary in color scheme depending on the theme.
