How Do I Make A Basketball Jersey Out Of Fondant????

I AM IN CHARGE OF MAKING A CAKE AND CUPCAKES FOR MY 11 Y/O NEPHEW'S BASKETBALL BANQUET. I'VE SEEN SEVERAL PHOTOS OF SHEET CAKES WITH BASKETBALL JERSEYS ON THEM. I WOULD REALLY LIKE STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE THIS JERSEY. SOME OF THE PHOTOS SHOW THE JERSEY DRAPED OFF THE SIDE OF THE CAKE. IS IT MADE OUT OF FONDANT? IS THERE A JERSEY TEMPLATE OR PATTERN THAT I NEED?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

first -- welcome.

here's a link to a template you can enlarge and print out to get the jersey shape.

color most of the fondant to the main color of the jersey, reserving some for the other color.

and do try the MMF -- so easy, tastes good too.
