OKay, so I attmepted the sugar beer bottle, it came out okay but I have never worked with sugar before. Is it supposed to be sticky? When I made it last night it was fine, this AM the whole thing is very sticky...I live in FL, high humidity especially this morning, is that the problem? Is there a fix or did I do something wrong?
Thanks! ![]()
Sugar is hygroscopic - it absorbs moisture - so the humidity is a problem. If the sugar solution isn't taken to the proper temperature, it will come out softer and feel sticky, too. So far, I have only been able to make amber bottles
- can't seem to get the timing right in removing the sugar from heat in time to prevent darkening but still get the temp high enough. I store my bottles in a container with a desiccant.
