THe guest of honor is going as Ward Cleaver, with June Cleaver (Leave it to Beaver). It's a "dress up as your favorite TV character party."

Coor's light, poker, and women are also a big hit with this friend. We were thinking a retro TV set with Leave it to Beaver on the screen, but I sort of want to do something they aren't expecting.

I have creative freedom, so I thought I'd consult all you super creative CC'ers for a fresh idea. I think there are only going to be about 30 guest or so. Thank you.

Seeing as it's a 40th birthday party, why not do a cake that's a collage of tv shows from 1969?

That website mentions these as the Top 20 Shows that season...

1969-70 TV Shows

1. Laugh-in
2. Gunsmoke
3. Bonanza
4. Mayberry, RFD
5. Family Affair
6. Here's Lucy
7. Red Skelton Hour
8. Marcus Welby
9. Walt Disney
10. Doris Day Show
11. Bill Cosby
12. Jim Nabors Hour
13. Carol Burnett Show
14. Dean Martin Show
15. My Three Sons
16. Ironside
17. Johnny Cash Show
18. Beverly Hillbillies
19. Hawaii Five-0
20. Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour

You could put something symbolic that represents the shows on the cake (i.e. a broom for the Carol Burnett Show or a horse for Bonanza?) and make it into a party game for guests to figure out the top 10 shows. The winner gets a little prize? thumbs_up.gif
