How do you cover a square cake board in fondant?
Hi, there are two ways of doing cake boards. One is a bandage method which mostly used for round cake boards. Here is how I do it.
First you keep the cake on the board. Then cover it with fondant or buttercream or whatever you use. Then you roll out some fodnant, cut a bit longer than the length of one one side of the boards. Wet one side of the board with water or clear lacohol. Then cover that with fondant. And you do all the gour sides. Then you need to cut the excess.
The other method is to cover the whole board with fondant, leave it to dry completely and you need to put the cake on a thin board as same size as the cake. Cover it with fondant. And then put a bit of royal icing on the middle of the fondant covered board and keep the cake on it centraly. Hope all these make sence.
