Does anyone know how I find out the legal implications of me baking and selling cakes out of my own kitchen in my state? I am currently looking for a job in my field, but am not having any luck. Several people have asked, after seeing cakes I made as gifts or donations, if I am available for hire. Up until now, my answer has been no, but if I can't find a job...

What state are you in? I live in Maryland and I called the Dept of Health to ask about regulations. You should be able to do the same.
