My grandkids love Cookies and Cream cake - I start with BC Golden Vanilla, add sour cream, instant vanilla pudding, milk, 4 eggs. Then coarsely chop Oreos and put in the batter. My oldest granddaughter always requests this cake.

Can you get that at all Krogers in your area? I live over in Jonesboro, but come your way a lot. I would love to try some bettercreme...we don't have any places that sell it here.

The one on Mendenhall right off Poplar. No just that one.
There's a special freezer over there full of Kosher items.

Y'go in the store and travel all the way over to the far left aisle (you go through the deli) and then you're in the farthest aisle to the left and start heading toward the back of the store, there's a break in the aisle halfway down on the right where you can get over into the other aisle--Right there in that passageway is the freezer on the right.

Cool cool cool.

You know, I have never done it that way, I have always just used BC thinned out a bit with some creamer. But I hate the way that it tastes sooo super sweet. I'll bet the fluff cuts down on the sweetness a bit. Thanks! I learn something new everyday!

Other favorites are:

Tropical - I follow the WASC recipe using pineaple juice in place of water, add a pkg of banana pudding, use coconut or pina colada extract, and coconut or other tropical yogurt in place of the sour cream.

Orange Dreamsicle - Follow the WASC recipe using 2 3/4 c melted orange sherbet in place of water, use orange creamsicle yogurt (Yoplait) in place of sour cream, and 2 t vanilla extract plus 2 t orange extract. I also tint the batter with orange food coloring.

I buy Bettercreme and Frostin' Pride at Smart&Final...

I love trying out new cakes!
How about a banana chocolate chip cake with chocolate sour cream frosting, very yummy. (or a peanut butter buttercream is delish with it too)
Another one I love is a Butter Pecan cake! Or a chocolate chip cake with a brownie-cream cheese filling... Mmmm.
I'm going to bake my pregnant belly a nice big cake tomorrow now!

All of the flavors sound terrific.

For my chocolate cake I have added about a tablespoon of Kahlua and then used vanilla buttercream icing.(the judges liked it so much it was Best of show at my county fair)

In one of the responses by Cookie4 she mentioned the rainbowlisish cake. I tried looking for it on the site and I am having a hard time finding it. Can anybody tell me how to find it or the recipe. It sounds delicious.

I recently tried a brown sugar pound cake that has almond meal in it (scratch recipe). I filled it with caramel pastrycream buttercream and it was out of this world. The cake is more tender than the usual variety and it kept very well too.

8 egg whites

Fill pans HALF full! It overflows if too full.

I use a filling that is Bettercreme blended with cheesecake pudding mix and crushed Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, but it's also great with chocolate fudge filling or raspberry pastry filling... oooh, I should try it with banana!

This sounds GREAT! How much cake does this make?

The rambowlishious cake is white/vanilla/WASC cake batter tinted with different colors. There are photos of it in MacsMom's photos. It's a really cool cake for kids, in my opinion. It also gave me the idea to swirl white and pink tinted batter together, which was cute, and then I tried tinting the batter pink by adding raspberry jam - making vanilla raspberry swirl cake! I'm making one of these for a little girls princess party next weekend. MacsMom was my inspiration! lol icon_smile.gif

I don't think anyone mentioned to try a WASC cake. (White Almond Sour Cream). Lots of people around here say they don't like nuts. You and I know that the "almond" part of the recipe is just flavoring, but some cake civilians don't know that. As soon as they hear ...almond...sour cream... they turn their nose up at it. I recently renamed that flavor "wedding" and people want me to make one w/o decorations just so they can eat it. People are so funny sometimes.

My kids tend to just like the plain cakes.. vanilla with vanilla SMBC or chocolate with chocolate or vanilla SMBC. They are booooooring. I do dress up the vanilla cake with the rainbow coloring like MacsMom posted.. they go ga ga for it. I put rainbow colored quins in the BC too and they love it. Very visually stimulating. LOL

Now I love chocolate cake with cookies-n-cream filling.. sooooo good. Spice cake with cream cheese or spiced apple SMBC is to die for too. Vanilla cake with lemon curd and raspberry puree or blueberry compote is such a good combo too. I've done banana cake studded with chocolate chunks filled with peanutbutter mousse and topped with ganache.. it's good, but not something everyone is going to think will be good.

My favorite is PB&J cake! You can make it either a cake or cupcakes, but I prefer it in the cupcake version. I bake peanut butter cupcakes, which are easy.. you can pretty much take any recipe you make and just add heaping spoonfuls of peanut butter to taste. Then after they have cooled I spoon out a bit of the top of the cupcake and fill it with strawberry jam.. and top with peanut butter buttercream. There is nothing better in this world than peanut butter buttercream!!! Mmmmmmmmmm.

This is one of my lastest favorites! Black Russian Cake. Such a unique flavor and so delicious. I frosted with buttercream though. I also used the vanilla vodka.

I've only used white cake and almond buttercream with it, but it was SOOOO GOOD! It's probably been three years since I made it, though I don't know why! I bet I could come up with lots of other flavor combos now! On to try it with the WASC... Or a chocolate cake... icon_biggrin.gif
