Decorating By Trixyinaz Updated 29 Dec 2008 , 3:37am by kellertur
We have 2 amazing cakes from 2 amazing decorators. This is one of the three throwdowns that we have this month.
CONTESTANT C1
Christmas Eve ~ Santa is stuck in the chimney and Rudolf is taking a break while the other reindeer have gone back to the shop to see if they can find something to get Santa out of the chimney with.
This is a 10inch carved square cake, WRSC (rum extract instead of almond) iced in chocolate buttercream spiked with Godiva Liquor and fondant covering. Santas sleigh is chocolate, the snow is royal icing, the chimney and roof are RKTs and everything else is fondant.
Merry Christmas!!!

CONTESTANT C2
Based on characters from my favorite Christmas special...
Title of cake: Another Miser family Christmas
Flavor cake: Turtle cake w/ caramel-pecan filling
Description: hand painted fondant, fondant figures. homemade hard candy "ice". (it's 2 tier with a separator covered in fondant.)

Both cakes are awesome! Nice job ladies! I have argued with myself over the last few minutes on wich one to vote for, and I have decided that while both are deserving of a vote, Im going to have to go with the second one. It is just so different and the characters are incredible.
Again, great job on both cakes, and have a Merry Christmas!
WOW!!!! Great job on both cakes. But my vote is for cake #1. I love santa stuck in the chimney (=
Wow !! Both cakes are just awesome, nicely done!
I think these are both great cakes. I wish you could both win!
Love them both! What amazing work! They both look like fun to do.
How to choose, how to choose? I'm still fighting with myself over which to choose! I think they're both exceptionally done; love santa and gotta love the split miser cake!
Hey Vicky just tring to help with the votes!! he he !
Thanks Kristi!!!! You did a fantastic job as well! Your figures were awesome and your use of homemade hard candy was really unique. I could not have been happier to go up against you! You were truly a pleasure to "compete" against!

Thanks Stephanie ~ that was my first time ever making hard candy...it worked out well. I was pleased I didn't blow up my kitchen. ![]()

Now that I'm the "loser" (ha ha), how does this work? Do I host the next one? I thought I read that in one of the posts... ![]()
