I have a lady who has ordered from at least 10 tens and she is the best!
It's gotton to the point where she just emails me what she wants and I send the an invoice and she just pays. No back and forth emailing or calling, no price haggling, no complaining, she is perfect! She always loves what I do and she orders the funnest cakes.
Ands what's really cool is I have done her wedding shower, wedding , baby shower and her childs 1st birthday (not to mention her and her husbands birthday among others), so its almost like I've been there for all those milestones.
I guess it means I must be doing something right for her to keep coming back.
i have several.....one of them is a cop...the first time he came in the shop....he looked real serious....and had silver modern looking sunglasses on...
i looked up from decorating saw him and said...."you're from the future aren't you?...
without skipping a beat, he said without even cracking a smile..."yes i am, and i've already paid you for this cake..."
ha ha ha...i called him "timecop" for a couple years...
i have a bunch who just call me and tell me to make a cake....they trust me, i love it after you get em trained....
My sissy, she always gets cake from me and she pays me too! 
I have a handful, but one in particular I absolutely adore. I've made her son's wedding cake, daughter's bday and graduation cakes, hubby's retirement cake, baby shower cakes, etc. She could call me with a couple of days notice, and I would fit her into my schedule. She provides honest feedback and is my best word of mouth referral. It's amazing the number of orders I've had from her recommendations. Because of that, I give her a decent discount on her cakes. She's my best and least expensive form of advertising. 
She's not my favorite based solely on her business. I enjoy talking to her when she comes into my shop. She brightens my day and seems to know when I need it.

I have a lady who lives in Michigan (Im in Oklahoma) and got my name from a local florist... she was in town and staying with her daughter. I made some things for them while she was here....and then she started calling and ordering things for her daughter and grandkids and pays whatever, calls in advance. She called 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and pre warned (as she says) when she would be in town for holidays and ordered to have it ready when she gets here. She is a doll!
I do have others...but I agree with someone when they said the stuff we make for our favs turn out the best, they are made with love!!!

Yup, several. Their cakes always seem to turn out the best. I guess it's because those cakes get extra love!

I do have a few other customers that I love, but she is just the sweetest and when I talk to her it's like talking to an old friend.
I agree! "Get 'em trained" Now they call and only have to tell me how many servings, date, theme what they want it to say. They trust me to pick out the perfect cake--and I like surprising them with what I come up with--it's fun when they don't have a picture in their minds already! I even have all their favorite flavors memorized so they don't even have to ask. I have their kids dates memorized, too, so I put them on my calendar even if they haven't called yet. I know they will.
I have a particular friend who sends me TONS of referrals--she gets good discounts and lots of extra love! In fact, her kid's cakes come out better than my own kid's. 
I have several that I like! It's funny, because some clients really get more involved than others. Some just pick up their cakes and you never hear a word bck, but others (probablly 4 or 5 for me) start to become friends, because we keep talking long after the cake has been eaten. I love that!
My favorite customer is a friend of my parents. I won her over with one cake and she keeps coming for more. She gives me great notice ahead of time (like i wouldn't fit her in), and doesn't complain about pricing. Last year i think was the real win, i made the desserts for her casino night party and with the response she got at the party it was a perfect match. Gives me theme and how many, and I'm all over it! Hope to get more of those types.
Yes, I do too! She is a sweet divorced older lady who has no kids, just her pets. Her first order was a thank-you cake for her vet after helping her sick kitty and she has ordered for every holiday since then, to be delivered to her vet. She loves them...and they are starting to love me! 
I feel blessed to have so many nice customers. My favorites include a family that I have done all of their showers, weddings, baby showers, and now kid's birthdays. I also have a fellow mom who will email me, lets me know how many she needs, but gives me free reign because "She knows I will come up with something fabulous!" She has brought me a lot of my business because she knows everyone in town. If I ever open my own shop, she would be the first person I hire.
