This is my first post on here....of hopefully many to come. I am making a cake for a friend of mine, and don't want to cover the whole thing in fondant. However, I would still like to use fondant decorations on the buttercream.

How much fondant can I use on buttercream that it will hold? What is the best way to attach the decorations?

You can use as much as you want. if you're using a crusting bc, just slap the fondant decorations on there before it crusts.

I do this quite often with no problems. I just stick the pieces right on there.

Yup - just lightly moisten the back and stick them on, I do it all the time.

Best wishes! Oh, welcome to CC, too!
