Oh and here in Miami we like to pour the Kool-Aid powder over a sour pickle....I've only tried it a few times and it was good but its something I can't eat every day.

What....Koolaid powder over pickles????? icon_eek.gificon_eek.gificon_eek.gif I don't even know what to say to that one! icon_confused.gificon_confused.gificon_confused.gif Any particular flavor of Koolaid?

Speaking of pickles....has anyone ever noticed that if you drink milk after eating dill pickles it tastes like coconut??

Cold spaghetti sandwich.

Grew up on mayonnaise and ketchup sandwiches (not together on the same bread, tho!).

And I dont' know why people make fun of "pickles and ice cream". Since I was a teenager, I've loved swooshing my pickles in my chocolate milkshake! Mmmmmmm-good! Makes the pickle extra cold and crunchy!

chocolate gravy over warm soda biscuits

BUTTERMILK!!! OH GOSH, I CAN DRINK GALLONS OF THIS STUFF, ESPECIALLY WITH A BIT OF SALT AND PEPPER SPRINKLED AND MIXED IN.

cold buttermilk and hot cornbread crumbled up in it, eaten with a large spoon.

grilled cheese with pickles under the bread

frozen burritos, which i prefer over fresh ANY DAY!!!

bean and bacon soup along with a toasted peanut butter sandwich.

NOTE: myhusband especially hates when i eat those last two choices, cause i'm quite...how should we say it...fragrant! to be around afterwards icon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_redface.gif

dinner foods at breakfast time.

my mom loves fried potato sandwiches, but i never quite got into those!

OK, I think sweet potato pie filling on Doritos and buttermilk with salt and pepper made my face crinkle the most. icon_lol.gif

A coworker made us try the "Koolickles" - pickles marinaded in kool-aid. Look it up on youtube.com. They were interesting.

I like peanut butter spread on a warm pancake, fold it and eat it. Yum.

I can eat capers by the spoonful.

Mixinvixen, what is chocolate gravy?

oh my gosh..chocolate gravy??? you mean you've been deprived of one of the greatest things ever?

it tastes exactly the same, pretty much, as warm rich chocolate pudding and it's ladled over a salty biscuit...mmmmmmm....haven't had it in forever!! my grandmother always made it from scratch with a pinch of this and a pinch of that. before the internet, where the recipe is now widely available, my mom would try to imitate it by just cooking chocolate pudding and then serving it really really fast before it cooled and started congealing!! hehehe...not much talking at that breakfast table! icon_biggrin.gif

i also like "chow chow" but not the sweet relish tasting one that is so frequently served here in the south..i like the pennsylvania dutch version that tastes alot like sourkrout...put some over your soup beans or beef stew...yummy!!!!!!!!!!

I've made them before, here is what I did.

Get dill pickle slices, and dry them off with paper towels. Make sure they're pretty dry. Then do the flour/eggwash/breading thing, or either dip it in tempura batter and deep fry them. I always just kind of make it up as I go along.

i love dipping my french fries in butter! yum! of course, it's a heart attack waiting to happen, so i don't eat that very often.

when i was pregnant with my twins, i would go to friendly's (only friendly's) and order a plate of pickles and a side of honey mustard. then i would proceed to dip the pickles in the honey mustard! omg, yum!!

i like the idea of potato chips in chocolate pudding! i love to make chocolate potato chip cookies.

oh, and i just started to dip my pretzels in ranch dip! or a hot dog wrapped in a slice of american cheese. and ranch dressing on my cheeseburgers. pickle juice or olive juice. doritoes on turkey sandwiches or plain potato chips on fried bologna sandwiches with american cheese. wow, i think i'm hungry!

My weird fetishes:

-Lays potato chips with french's mustard on wonderbread (with ZERO health benefits, no less)
-chocolate and cottage cheese
-cheese-its covered in chocolate ;0)
-hot sauce on anything. literally. sometimes right out of the bottle
-COLD pizza. I never ever ever ever eat hot pizza. melted cheese is like the grossest thing in the world to me.
-Pepperoncini's from the jar
-Popcorn in vanilla ice cream
-Tripe (yes, cow stomach)
-Octopus and squid
-anchovies

My grandmother used to eat raw ground beef, EW! And i went to school with this kid wayy back in the day who used to eat peanut butter, ketchup and jelly sandwiches!!

And my father eats peanut butter, banana and pickle sandwiches... YUCK! =(

Potato chips are supposed to be used on sandwiches like a condiment. My Mom told me so! lol

- Apples in tuna salad
- Liverwurst and fudge brownies TOGETHER
- Blue cheese dressing on anything
- Pickle chips and blue cheese ( or bleu cheese if you prefer) he he he

My ex is Cajun and I loved everything his family cooked including turtle soup made from a turtle that didn't make it across the road fast enough. (They caught it!) But I just can't get over what boudain is. I loved it when I didn't know what it was!

Ok you win! liverwirst & brownies...I was shocked at first and I think screamed out loud. After I thought about it...braunswiger is liverwurst and I can almost see it..now im scared that I might try it! The boudain is frightning!
When I was young and dumb and in the Air Force, my first night in Korea was met with Soju and a very yummy dish....didnt know at the time it was dog! Wasnt very funny the next day for many reasons, one of which was the group of people I was with that had been there for awhile and were laughing hysterically as they broke the news that it was dog and my face turned about 3 shades of green.

JJkarm...the most popular kool-aid flavor with pickles is Grape!!! Combined with the pickle gives you the most bitter taste and its not necessarily a good taste but somehow people just can't seem to get enough of it!

If that is cream cheese with ripe/black olives, I am with you on that one. That filling is really good rolled up in lavash or a flour tortilla, too.

Several of our friends think my family is odd because we like barbecue sauce and ranch dressing on salad.

Amen here! I am not a breakfast person! I'd rather have a cheeseburger for breakfast. As I tell my friends, "How come if I have pork and cheese on a muffin, that's ok, but if I have beef and cheese on a bun, then you think I'm weird?"

PEanut Butter and Potato Chip sandwich & Bologna and Potatoe Chip sandwich ...... although it's not really considered a weird food since you can find this in one of the Frugal Gourmet's cookbooks!

OH I LOVE fried pickle chips with a good ranch dressing!

The weirdest thing I eat is ranch dressing on my taco bell. If I get a taco or burrito I open it up, dump the innards, add ranch dressing, two pouches of mild sauce, mix it together, then spoon it onto the shell/tortilla. It looks like a pile of puke but it's yummy, I even got my mom into eating it. I also pour ranch over the mexican pizza and nachos bel grande....mmmmm I'm making myself hungry!

I also like--
1-fritos with chocolate ice cream
2-pickle juice
3-spam fried in a skillet with bbq sauce made into sandwiches
4-cottage cheese mixed with jello and crumbled ritz crakers

When brides are picking out their buffet menu and we get to the salad (they can have 3 dressings with their salad) and I tell them, "Here in Indiana we drink Ranch dressing with a straw, so what would you like the OTHER two dressings to be?"

I LOVE IT!!!! I agree that it goes with a lot. I am really picky about mine though. I like the hidden valley stuff on my taco bell but the homemade kind of ranch on anything else. I've learned which restaurants not to order it from. icon_smile.gif

O'Charleys---edible
Red Lobster--Nasty
Outback Steakhouse--Yummy
Longhorn Steakhouse--Yummy

OK, FIdos_Mom does win with the liverwurst and brownies. icon_sad.gificon_lol.gif

How did you come to eat those two together?

And I may regret this but what IS in boudain?

Ranch is good with just about everything. I like pouring a little on my spaghetti too.

Pork chops boiled in seasoned water with worcestershire sauce and then spooned over spaghetti noodles. Add in a little ketchup. YUM. My late grandma used to make this for my grandpa and us grandkids and we called it "yak". I cannot remember why we called it this.

Boudain is a sausage..usually made with pork liver and heart with....pork blood. You can also get it without the blood.

It can be good depending on how it is made.

Boudain - I didn't mind the liver and heart part. It was the "made with blood" that got to me.

Liverwurst and brownie - I was pregnant. And well.... I was at my Mom and Dad's deli looking at the meat case and I could see the brownie display across the way. One thing lead to another and a mess was born. And I liked it!! Sick but true!

Wonder if we have any liverwurst. I can always make brownies..... icon_biggrin.gificon_eek.gif
