Hola y'all, (Puerto Rican living in the south.) lol
Anyway, I am making the Mach 5 from speed racer in December for a co-worker. I bought the new teaching video from Mike's Amazing Cakes on Cars. But I'm stuck on this one itsy bitsy thing.
The front of the car.
Take a good look at it and please oh please give me ideas on how to make it so that it looks good.
It's so pointy and it protrudes and just hovers. If I cut the cake like that and cover it with fondant or modeling chocolate, will it hold? Will it droop?
Help me brainstorm.
Thanks
Hello...
I would maybe attach to the end of a pointy sugar cone to the cake, and cover it in fondant. I'm not sure, but I think that cake would not get pointy enough.
Hi, I also have Mike's video. I used it for my Mustang cake. What I would do for this cake is to cut your cake board in the shape of the car including the cones. This way the board will hold up the pointy front end of the car.
That is an awesome idea. You mean the foam that I am going to use for the base... have it extend out and the points and back fill with cake. That is so good. It just might work.
That way, I can also add the cutting thingy's that you see in the photo into the foam.
You guys rock.. I knew I could get great ideas from you.
