i am a amateur cake decorator i only do for friends and family for fun.
i have no clue to what kind of airbrush to by can anyone give me some tips does it have to be expensive. i saw some on ebay for about 25.00 to 40.00 are those okay and does anyone know where i can get any info on how to do this i learn alot by error and trial but it takes a while. thank you

I don't have an airbrush YET but it's on my wishlist! There are quite a few discussions on here about airbrushes. I think you'll want to make sure it's a new, never used airbrush that has not had non-edible paint in it.

Get an airbrush that is made just for cakes. You can find some on ebay and some at hobby stores, but those compressors will blow holes in your buttercream. Go to Kopykake.com and start your research there. They are expensive, no doubt, but well worth the investment. I got mine last summer!

I have a regular Badger Airbrush with a small compressor that I have had since 1995 and it works fine on cakes.

I highly recommend the one with the cup on top or the screw on jar because they hold more paint thumbs_up.gif .
