Question About A Center Dowel

I am making a 10 inch cake with a 6 in. cake on top. Do I need a center dowel?

If you are going to travel with it stacked, I would just to be safe.

You should have dowels in the 10" cake to support the 6" cake. You only need a center dowel if you will be transporting the cake already assembled.
