Need Help..have To Make Tied Cake

Anybody that can help.
I have to make my first ever 2 tierd cake. I need to know should I use a stick in the middle to make sure the cake on top doesn't slide? Help Please 
Hi, you need to put the cake that goes on the top on a same size board. And then you need to dowel the bottom cake and then put the top tier. Are you going to deliver the cake. If you are going to do that I would think its best to put the centre dowel. Here is a link on how to do a tieredcake.
