How far ahead can you bake and decorate cookies? I have a halloween party on the 31st and was wondering if I Could make them today. can I leave them out in a bag? Can you tell I am new to cookies. lol
I baked cookies about two weeks ago, decorated them and froze them. Make sure you seal the bag good. and separate them when you take them out to defrost. Mine tasted just fine after freezing.
I have read on here about a week in a well sealed bag or container, I think but maybe someone else can give you a better answer on that! As for defrosting them don't take long at all, an hour if that!
I did put a few cookies decorated with TG into freezer, and they defrosted fine, very nice and soft. Yes, just a few minutes to defrost. I have done RI before as well. I always serve or freeze within a couple of days. I like them to be fresh.
