Spinning Car Rims On Cake

My nephew is turning 10 in December and after seeing me make different types of cakes has decided he wants a car with spinning rims on it. Does anyone have any ideas. I realize it may not be possible but my nephew is my heart and i will do anything to make him the best birthday cake ever. Thanks in advance ![]()
I have NO ideas but I'll give you a bump! I'd love to see this! ![]()
OMG!! Awesome idea... Did you want to spin them with your finger or have them continuously spinning? I think what I would do is use gumpaste.. So like, make the tires out of gumpaste but not just a donut shape, I'd do like a thick disk with a small hole in the middle, and put a small peice of a scewer in the hole and "glue" it in with r.i., and then make the spinning piece out of gumpaste, with a hole in the middle slightly larger than the scewer, and paint it silver or whatever with luster dust. And then I'd make a little tiny "washer" out of the gumpaste to put behind the spinner (This will prevent the spinner from resting agains the gumpaste tire) and attach it to the scewer with r.i. and then place on the spinner, then make a "cap" out of gumpaste to hold the spinner on to the scewer without hindering it;s movement and attach with r.i. does that make sense? Then stick the end of the scewer into the cake... I'll try to draw it.. lol... In my head it works...
Hey, why can't you make it using the same principles as a Pin Wheel? Like with a Brad type thing? Maybe a sewing pin? Lemme see if I can work it out.
You could also use something like this:
