Why did you do that? You know that is illegal and just wrong.

I can only assume the above was posted in the wrong thread...if not, I'm curious at whom the finger was pointed? What a bizarre thing to say... especially for a first post by a brand new member icon_confused.gif

LOL......Okay, yeah, that's probably a bit over the top, but I still think it's funny.

I am right there with you Laura!!!

I had a cake just today that was a 3D cat and she specifically wanted the message written on it in orange icing.

I debated for awhile how to do it...

And then I figured "Hey"....she wanted it "on" the cat, in "orange icing" so why not? I put the message on the cat. You can always take your photos before you add the message.

I hope it gets worked out...poor you...

I actually have something for this in my contract. My last page states that once the cake is delivered, I am no longer responsible for it. If anything happens, due to wind, dust, bugs, heat, not being stored as I directed them to...I cannot be held responsible. I make them sign it saying that the cake is satisfactory when I drop it off, and then I'm done with it. Maybe you should consider adding something like this. Better safe than sorry!!

Dear PITA (just kidding) icon_lol.gif

I received your e-mail at 11:48 p.m. concerning the cake that you purchased from me. I wish that you would have contacted me earlier in the day. At this point there isn't much that I can do to rectify the situation as I'm sure that the cake has been eaten.
It's puzzling to me that you said the icing was ruined since it was fine when I delivered it. The only time icing will run and melt is if the cake is not stored properly and is kept in a hot environment.
I hope you can see that it is truly unfair for you to threaten to "badmouth" my business, since I was not given the opportunity to see the damaged cake or to rectify it for you.

Sincerely,
Susie

HTH
Good luck!
Deb

OMG- can't believe this thread is still going! LOL- I never came back here and looked after the first days!

I e-mailed the customer back asking for a picture or two showing me what had happened to the cake and asking where she had stored it. I never got a response. If I had been bad mouthed from it I am unaware. I did get an order from someone else who attended the party so I am guessing that it did not look that bad despite the running buttercream?

Oh- and she never asked for it to say "Happy Birthday"- she asked for a realistic looking pumpkin for her daughter's harvest themed birthday party.

Thanks everyone.
