I'm making an anniversary cake and one of the layers is going to be spice. What kind of filling goes with spice cake???TYIA

maple cream cheese or pumpkin mousse come to mind.

I like to use apple filling with spice.

You just add maple syrup in place of some of the liquid in any cream cheese icing/filling recipe. Or you can use maple extract, if you prefer to add flavor without sweetness.

Bavarian cream also works, but I like that maple idea. mmmmmmmm
