I agree with pretty much everything that has been said. I noticed that you live in Williamson County. I'm in Florence, AL which is about 2 to 2.5 hours away from you and I know that the people who live in Williamson, Franklin, and Davidson Counties can definitely afford to spend more on a wedding cake. I say this because your work is wonderful and you have education from Culinard. I think your basic flavors should be at least like, $2.30. And I noticed how you like to use fresh ingredients and things that add more to the cost of a cake, so I would up my prices a little bit. You're worth so much more. icon_smile.gif

I just wanted to say, the website looks great, and I couldn't tell which cakes had a lower skill level icon_confused.gif - they all looked professional, well thought out and beautifully made! Each cake is individual, sometimes I think if the cake is more fun than traditional people think it doesn't look as skilled icon_eek.gif - I say look closer and open your mind!!!!

Great stuff, keep up the good work!!! thumbs_up.gif

This site is very nicely designed, and elegant & professional. The look & feel of a website has a big effect on my decision to purchase (I'm sure many others are the same)..it's sort of like that First Impression thing.

Your website delivers.

The only thing (as others have said) is to have more & larger pictures. Your cakes are wonderful.

And the special bride page is unique!

first, you have beautiful cakes, I adore the birds nest cake. I have dail up connection, and your site loaded rather quickly for me. The gallery page, if it were me...I would have all the photos the same, a couple of the pics have the soft border and the rest don't, maybe a wee bit distracting to the eye? The pink box background, just a suggestion...maybe a drop shadow or a border to make it stand out from the white background. Maybe a different font, something romantic, like Edwardian or other script font? The slide show loaded fairly fast for this old dial up as well. maybe radio buttons for your home, gallery ect. links. Maybe in time, have your own domain name for your web address so folks can find it easier...eg.
www.thecakeparlour.com For example yahoo offers your own domain name and tons of bandwith for 8.95 a month. Best of luck with your business....although I don't think you need luck, you have talent.

Oh the people on here are so wise. I do totally agree. Great page I would definately get a cake from you. I too think that your prices are reallllly low for the quality of work that you are putting forth, especially with the ingredients, training, and design put into it! You really should concider raising prices, don't sell yourself short. It will bite you in the end. I will pray for you and your business. I am still trying to figure out how to start myself! Any hints would be great!

I think your site is very professional looking.

I think that your Wedding Spotlight is a great, innovative idea. I think I would have liked to hear more about the cake in the end though. Certainly as lovely as it is it needs a bit more time than you gave it in the end. Since you are selling cakes, I think that self promotion at the end would be appropriate. Maybe a bit about how they chose the design, a bit of info on how the flavors were recieved chosen. Some very descriptive words to explain how wonderful the cake tasted. Just a bit more...

Overall though...nicely done. And beautiful work.

Thank you everyone again! I have made so many changes to my site based on the comments you have left! Sometimes, you stare at something for so long, you don't really see it anymore...so you have to have outside opinions! I do have it up now at www.Thecakeparlour.com , and will continue to adjust and tweak it.

Great website! It has all of the information a bride would be looking for as well as a tasteful display of your work. I love that you include pricing as so many don't and when I was a consumer looking for a wedding cake it drove me crazy not knowing if someone was in my price range or not!!!

Good luck with your newly "legal" business!!!
