Hi , I am very new to all of this, I just signed up for a cake and cookie decorating class, but my question is can you decorate the premade cookie dough, I bought a container from a fundraiser for a lady at work and to practice my learnings I was wondering if I could decorate the cookie dough or is the consistancy not right. thanks for the help.

You can decorate anything you want, just depends on what you want to do. icon_smile.gif

You can use any cookie you want. I think the preferable cookie is a sugar cookie or butter cookie. Just as long as the surface is fairly smooth. Have fun!

Usually, store bought sugar cookie dough is a little soft. Depends on what you want to do with it. You can always throw it in the mixer and add a little bit more flour (or flavors if you like) to get a firmer texture.
